We are less than 1 week away from Valentine's Day so I had to share some ideas to make the day extra sweet. I saw this wonderful and decadent Chocolate and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast on Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger and I was in my kitchen 10 minutes later making it. The funny thing was I had just finished making some chocolate covered strawberries so I already have the strawberries and melted chocolate sitting in my kitchen. I think the next time I will make one change from the originally recipe and swap the ricotta cheese for some cream cheese and see how that tastes. My son absolutely adored this trial run recipe for Valentine's Day. He has already put his order in for the 14th.
Recipe inspired by Ellie Krieger's Healthy Appetite Show
Notes: I think you can also substitute cream cheese for the ricotta cheese and it would be wonderful.
Directions:
Apply chocolate, ricotta cheese on sliced bread. Add strawberries and make into a sandwich. Then dip into egg custard and soak both sides.
Butter a griddle or frying pan on medium-low heat and allow both sides of the bread to become golden brown. You want to do this on low heat so you give the egg time to cook. Dust with powdered sugar and sliced strawberries and enjoy.
Now on to the Awards:
I have been so fortunate to meet so many extraordinary people in this food blog world. If it wasn't for the wonderful feedback and comments I received from you all, the silence ((or the crickets chirping)) would be deafening. So many of you have not only rewarded me with your wonderful comments and support here at the blog, but given me the honor of awarding me with Blogger Awards as well. I have collected 4 in the last few months and it's now my turn to give some blogger love back.....
